I went in today with my carefully prepared explanation for why I was speeding last Friday.
After I found the office/courtroom thingy in Guelph, I was informed that the only thing that I could do by pleading guilty w/ explanation was to get the monetary amount reduced. Getting rid of the points would involve pleading not guilty and coming back some other time to see if I could convince them I wasn't going as fast as I probably was going.
I might like to try to skirt the system at times, but if I get caught, I believe in paying my dues. I was speeding. I got caught. I pay my fines.
Of course, the NEXT time I get a ticket, I'm fighting that bad boy! Hopefully it won't happen for another 6 years.
