This is freaky.

I just went to Movie Punks today just to see what the strip was like.

And I see this:

Sigh. First Claire Danes falls off the face of the planet, now Willow's engaged. So much for my celebrity crushes :)
There's this cursed abbey I have to clear out... but it's full of not just skeletons, but METAL skeletons.

YEEESH!

Not fun at all, esp. when you have a pack of them chasing you through farmland.

I did get to kill this ninja who was stalking a knight. It was funny. The reason I found him was because he was sticking out like a sore thumb in his black ninja garb and all the farmers told me where they saw him :)
MAN... Divine Divinity is stinkin' addictive. I think I just played it for about 5 hours straight there... and I could keep on playing it, but I really should go to bed.

Such a hard life I have :)
More hats!

Just let the little movie load up and watch the wierdness that is SPACE FISHERMEN!

YAY! Painting is done!

I just have to wait for the paint to dry, then hang up some curtains and push the furniture back and I can flake out on the couch for 4 days if I so desire :)
Well, got the house all painted now. Just have to do the trim and some touch-ups and it'll be Relaxo-ville here at Casa Del Wager for the next few days. Ah.
My favourite thing so far in Divine Divinity:

I'm cleaning out a dungeon, killing skeletons left and right.

No biggie.

I start going down this hallway and the camera pans down to these two skeletons talking about the fact that they're not hungry because they don't have stomachs.
Then one asks why they can talk if they don't have vocal cords.
So the other one says that he doesn't know, and wonders what exactly is keeping them together since they are just skeletons after all.
The first one then says, "Ah, I don't like thinking about these things. It leads to all sorts of existential problems."

Then they fall apart :)

Hee hee.
We went to see Gangs of New York today. Man, I loved that movie.

But I really need a new hat.

And some more friends to wear it with.

Painted the ceiling and the main room today. Well, I did the ceiling, my dad did the walls and Julie just watched us :)

Quality Control, I think it's called.

I think my neck is permanently bent though. I could get a job looking at airplanes, I guess.
I'm really liking Star Ocean... But Tactics is right there at the top of my CD rack o' games and it's taunting me.

That, and it was the first console game I bought after my SNES was stolen way back in the day. I picked it up, then got a PS1 and had to give it to my brother to justify having bought it.

Now look at me. It's all FF Tactics' fault.

Sunday, January 26, 2003

Spent the day scrubbing the walls. I now hate people who smoke indoors. Bleh.

Saturday, January 25, 2003

Played about 4 hours or so of Splinter Cell tonight. Man, fun game. And it's not easy. I'm 7 missions into it so far (out of 10) but they can take around 4 hours or so to finish, so it'll be a decent length for an 'action' game. Cool storyline and great sneaking abounds.
yay! All done work until February 3rd. Whee!

Let the painting begin.

Friday, January 24, 2003

Well, I have but two more days of work (including today) and I will be off on vacation for a week!

But I have to paint my house for that week... hmm...
Ah, I love Penny Arcade.

Wednesday, January 22, 2003

Well, Homestar Runner is back online. That page kind of explains what happened, as only Homestar Runner can explain things.

Speaking of Systems being Down, my e-mail won't check for some reason. Net access is ok, but I can't get anything to load up into Outlook Express... wierd.
I really hope Homestar Runner is up and running tomorrow. I didn't get my Monday Strongbad E-mail. Sigh.
Today I got my mortgage statement. It's sad when you've paid down $1500 of the principal and $3500 in interest. Something very wrong about that :(

I guess that being too popular is a bad thing when it comes to the internet.

"Brock, we're having trouble with the host server today because of heavy traffic. We're working with Yahoo to resolve things and we'll get the site up as soon as we can!!

Thanks for your interest, and thanks for being a Fan!!

hee hee... WHEN ICONS ATTACK.
I learned a valuable lesson today. Making tea in a bottled water bottle is not a good idea unless you're into funky modern art.
Neat Ideas show on Buffy. I'm even more glad that I've started watching it (addictively) lately. Though I can't watch it new because I haven't seen much more than the first season and a half. Oh well. They'll all be out on DVD eventually :)
And Ideas is doing a program on Buffy The Vampire Slayer and the social implications of the show. Woo!
I also got a game called Divine Divinity. It came out last year and got pretty good reviews, but it's also on the 'Best Games That Nobody Played' list on Gamespot. I got it cheap though, so I'll give it a shot :)
I picked up a Calligraphy kit today. It's got 3 pens, 11 inks and instructions on how to learn how to do calligraphy.

Why? Why not.
Good thing I went to bed early last night. I ended up getting called at 7:15am and had to go in for 8... bleh... but that means I get to be home for dinner!

Sunday, January 19, 2003

PDO is fun, hard and friggin' addictive. I should have been in bed about 2-3 hours ago. Sigh.

Thursday, January 16, 2003

That's my result of the What Mage Are You? quiz.

Got my Panzer Dragoon Orta today. I traded in Suikoden 3 as well and was able to get Hunter: The Reckoning for Xbox for free and even have a bit of credit left over to put towards Xenosaga. Woot.

And I had a good day off today, barring the mysterious disappearance of my Vanilla Coke. Watched a lot of Buffy. Read a bunch. Played a bit of videogames (but it was one of those accursed sunny days where the sun shines in JUST so and you can't see anything on the TV. Sigh).
Somebody broke into my house today and stole the Vanilla Coke I put in the fridge last night. I know I didn't drink it, because I just now had the can of regular coke I put in the fridge earlier in the week.

I think it's a conspiracy. A conspiracy to drive me MAD!
Mmm... Panzer Dragoon Orta...

2 days...

And I'm done Suikoden 3 (mostly)...

Good times.

This looks like it'll be my Rez for the year :)
I bought two kilograms of Ju-Jubes today. Man... you know it was a rough shift.
Ok. This is neat. You can buy an entire TOWN. I think I know what I want for my birthday :)

Tuesday, January 14, 2003

Well, I 'beat' Suikoden 3 today... sort of.

Turns out that once you finish it, you get to play through the whole game from the main villain's perspective. It's pretty neat and it fills in a lot of the gaps in the storyline.

I'm just over 88 hours now... I should be finished it tonight after another hour or so of play. But I must go to work. Sigh.

At least now I can get back to Splinter Cell and these other Xbox actiony games. Woo!

Sunday, January 12, 2003

But first I have to finish Suikoden 3 before I can revel in all of these action games. I'm pushing 84 hours and still have a little while to go... sigh. Great game, but I'm getting to the point now where I just want it to end!
I picked up GunValkyrie for the Xbox today. Only $25. Can't go wrong there.

And this week Panzer Dragoon Orta is out... mmm... supposedly the best graphics of any game out on any system. Double mmm...
Finished watching Buffy: Season 1 today. Woo.

Saturday, January 11, 2003

Well, I cracked (damn you Wal Mart and your incredibly cheap DVD prices!) and picked up Seasons 2 & 3 of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Yeah, I'm turning into an addict. I blame Space TV for running the final episodes from last season (the 'Willow destroys the world' storyline) which were very good and got me hooked on the show.

That, and the very good Xbox game based on the show helped get my interest piqued again.

Season 3 is supposed to be the best of the show from what I've heard, so the fact that I think I've seen all of one episode (the season finale) is cool.
Happy Birthday Tony!

Dragonball Z sucks.
I found this on a message board about how Lord of the Rings would have been written had other authors written it. There are lots of great ones, but I got a real chuckle from this one.

LotR Z
"This foe is beyond any of you... his power Level has reached at least 30,000 after fighting every Dwarf in Moria. Ki Fhy to the gate Aragorn, you must lead them on!" The muscles beneath Gandalf'sGrey Cloak strained in anticipation of the coming battle.

Soon after, when they were nearly at the gate, the Balrog launched a surprise Ki attack, knocking down Borrmir and stunning Blazing Fist Gimli.

Gandfalf turned to face him. "Fool!" said he, I don't have time for this nonsense... "Pure Flame of Arnor Shield Wall Strike!" The massive energy wall sstreaked off towards the Balrog, who was knocked flying... though no-one was sure whether or not he had wings.

"Raaaaauuuugggg! Gandalf, I have not shown you my true power!

Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa...

five minutes later

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
aaaaaaaaa!

Now I am a Super Balrog 2!!!!! My power level has gone up to 3 million!"

Gandalf just smirked. "I probably shoud have told you, after you left the service of Eru, we figured out a few new tricks. Here's a good one:

Kaaaaaaaaaa------Meeeeeeee------Haaaaaaqa-----Meeeeee----

-The Balrog laughed in anticipation of Gndalf's feeble attack-

HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!"

The resulting explosion threw the Balrog back agaoinst the walls of Moria. His expression turned to one of complete disbelief. "Urrrghhh.... Ahhh... Ugghhhhh.... That's...not possible...."

The rest of the Fellowship of the Z Ring stared, twitching slightly and grunting in awe at Gandalf!

Gandalf grinned, "another one of those tricks I learned... I learned how to Hide my POWER level!"

EB has a new print magazine out now called GMR (short for GaMeR) and it's actually a pretty good magazine. Minimal ads, good content and lots of good pictures (not grainy crap like a lot of stuff you see).

I like that it covers all platforms, including PCs, and that they've got it as their mission statement to only preview stuff that is going to be coming out within 4 months. They want to be more about actual content than just hype.

And $25 for a year subscription? Can't really go wrong with that, esp. with a 10% off used games incentive :)
Yuck. Power just went out here about an hour ago and finally came back on.

Luckily, it came back on just before Buffy! Woo! I've been watching it the last couple nights and it's got me sucked in. I think it's either last season or maybe even stuff from this season... I don't know. I don't tend to watch Buffy when it's on first run, but I do like the show. I just wish it wasn't on so stinkin' late!

Everything you wanted to know about Canada but were afraid to ask.
Here is some interesting news about the chip that will be the guts of the Playstation 3. Not that it's coming any time soon. The chip itself won't be ready till 2004-2005 and they'll still have to make all the other dodads that'll plug into it. Still, it's neat to see the future of gaming and computing advancing so rapidly.
Hey cool! There's a place called Wager Bay! I got that info from a National Geographic Picture Of The Day site.

And this is a map showing where it is (the star).
Prepaid Panzer Dragoon Orta today (yummy) and I also made sure that I had enough paid off on my Zelda pre-order to get the Ocarina Of Time bonus disc. woo!
Mmm... Buffy Season 3 is out today. I'm THIS close to buying it, but I still don't have season 2 and I haven't finished watching Season 1 :(

Monday, January 06, 2003

Well, I took the Geek Rating test and scored 75%. Here's what that means for me:

"You're on a particularly useless cusp known as "being a bit of a nerd". Nobody really trusts what you say about computers, but at the same time, they keep asking you really annoying questions that they could answer for themselves if they just spent five minutes thinking about it. You also have to spend a lot of time not having a life in order to keep your slightly inadequate skills up to date. You have a choice: work harder and learn more, or give up and start to enjoy life."

Sunday, January 05, 2003

Well, I went skiing yesterday and had lots of fun when I was actually skiing. Unfortunately, going to Glen Eden on the last weekend of holidays and the day after the biggest snowstorm of the year (2003) wasn't a great idea. Ended up standing in line for longer than I was actually skiing. Oh well. At least I gave my new boots a whirl!

Saturday, January 04, 2003

Ok. Now if this isn't the sneakiest way to sell Gameboys, I don't know what is.

"Interestingly, Nintendo reportedly has plans to make it impossible to play Pokemon Gamecube unless one of the recently released Pokmon GBA games (Pokmon Ruby or Pokmon Sapphire) is connected to the GameCube via the GBA-GC link cable."
I really should get to sleep.
Check out this handwritten clock. It's really neat.
Ooo. I like my new template. The colours change! Hee hee...

I will probably go back to the Robot eventually. But for now I think I'll try some new templates out for a while. And if you're looking, the links are down on the right-hand side under the archives now :)
Well, there we go. Everything seems to be working again.
I'm going skiing tomorrow (well, today, I guess)... woo! Got my skiis tuned and sharpened and my brother is on his way over here first thing in the morning. And we just got a foot of fresh powder. Woot!

I wonder if Blogger has started updating my Blog yet. It hasn't seemed to have updated it for a few weeks. According to my own site records, I can view all the updates I've done since last Saturday, but when I load up the site itself, no updates. Wierd.
