The Golden Goose-Egg... OF DOOM!

This has been a long weekend. One of those weekends where you look forward to going to work so that you can actually get a chance to relax.

I'd worked the overnight shift on Friday night so I spent most of Saturday morning napping that off, followed by a few trips to the storage unit to unload everything except the pool table, my skis and about one load of ladders and such. Right after that got finished, we went out to Guelph to see Monsters Vs. Aliens in 3D and wrapped up the evening with a viewing of Quantum Of Solace, which Julie seemed to enjoy until she fell asleep.

This was a long day as it was, what with the craziness of Saturday behind us, as we had the Annual Meeting at church and didn't end up getting home until about 2:30-3pm today. I'd barely changed into my PJ's and had a chance to flake out on my bed for a few minutes when Julie started calling for me to get downstairs right now.

It turns out that Garrett & Kara decided to recreate Cirque Du Soleil or some such nonsense. Kara had climbed up onto her squishy Backyardigans chair which was perched on top of the exersaucer... and then did a face plant onto the floor.

After watching her for a few minutes, it was decided that the giant goose-egg on her forehead was bigger than anything we'd ever seen, so a trip to the ER ensued. I just got home after 2 1/2 hours and thankfully all is well. She still has a big lump on her noggin but she was her old self shortly after we got done with registering at the nurses' station.

Kara's going to have a bunch of trips to the hospital if her climbing ways continue. I caught her standing on the top of back of the couch the other day and she likes to climb out of her high chair and stand on the tray.

Sigh.
