So I got through to someone who could help me with that card problem I had.
But they got it backwards. They transferred the $0.78 I have (had) on the card that actually exists onto the card that was destroyed. Now it has $18 or so on it and the card I hold in my hand RIGHT NOW is empty.
Sigh.
