Woo! I didn't miss the Persieds this year.
I was leaving work tonight around 10pm and as I was walking up to my car, a meteor blazed through the sky straight over my car. It looked as if it would hit my car, had my car been huge and on the horizon.
It was probably one of the biggest metors I've seen. The tail was long enough that I had to really crane my head back to see the whole length of it... for the couple of seconds that it was visible.
Perfect night for it. There was no moon and the sky was crisp and clear. We should have gone camping this weekend and we could have seen it in all its glory. Ah well.
